    worried about dad
    Current mood: worried

My step-dad has been staying with us because his house stays cold. He was doing fine until this morning when he couldn't keep anything down. He went to the hospital, (now when he wants to go to a doctor he is sick.) And they did tests, and found out that he had a heart attack. His blood sugar was almost 700. If he would have waited any longer, it may have been worse.

My younger brother is taking it ok, my baby brother is taking it kinda hard and is upset because he is so far away. My sis well, can't seem to get a hold of her to let her know. All I can do is pray.

He is the only dad I have now. My biological dad died 1996. I am hopeing to be able to get him a good heater or two for his house. I know he hates to stay away from home. Well, I have to go now.

    MyResponse:

You know, I'm tired of tiptoeing around all of this stuff between you and I Molly. Everytime I want to say something to you I'm afraid to... and if I do you delete my comments and totally ignore me. I'm seriously surprised that you haven't deleted Tom and I from your friend's list by now... but I've noticed that we are no longer at the top of your friend's list.

You're worried about your "dad?" Our Grandmother was your Mother AND your Father. She raised you. No matter how warped I think she was in her religious/spiritual beliefs she took you in and raised you when your mother, Bessie and stepfather, Charles wouldn't. Bessie and Charles lived next door with your brothers and sister... no more, no less. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I never realized you were THAT close to your biological mother, Bessie, let alone your stepfather, Charles. In my opinion, our Grandmother was your Mother and your Father... not Bessie or Charles.

Besides, Charles was abusive (mostly mentally and emotionally) towards your biological mother, Bessie, and your brothers and sister. However, I remember a few times when Charles physically abused Bessie, usually when he went off his psychiatric medications. Sorry, Molly, but Charles gets no sympathy from me. He's dying a lonely old man. He is reaping what he has sowed in life. Your Holy Bible speaks of reaping and sowing and I firmly believe in Karma.

But you know what Molly, I can understand why you are holding onto Charles as "dad." You want to hold onto someone who is "family." I know the feeling. I feel the same way about you. I've wanted to hold onto some sort of relationship with you in spite of our differences. However, I'm getting the picture that you don't care to have any relationship with me other than to preach fire and brimstone preaching onto me.

Since we've found eachother here on MySpace, it seems you keep me at arms length. But I guess you really don't have much to say to me nowadays unless it's fire and brimstone preaching, right? Seeing as you've finally gotten the hint that no amount of preaching is going to change me and you've stopped preaching, you really don't say much of anything to me, do you? It's sad really. You'd rather cling to an psychotic abusive stepfather who never raised you and never really wanted you than to actually get to know and communicate with your cousin who does want to communicate with you. I've cried many tears over you... angry tears... broken heart tears... missing you tears.... what could have been tears. I am seriously thinking that you and I are so very different that we will never be platonic friends let alone the sisterly/cousins we once were and I wish we still were.

Maybe the reason why your sister, Loretta can't be found or can't be gotten a hold of is because she doesn't want to be reminded of the hell hole she came from. I can certainly sympathize. There are many demons in West Virginia for those of us in our family. Some of us don't want to live with those demons day after day. We'd rather brush the dust of West Virginia from our feet and move on.

God knows I've had to brush the dust of WV from my feet. Even recently I've had to make the descion to not allow my dad's divorce from my stepmother, Juanita to effect me to the extent that it drags me down. My father has issues and he refuses to deal with them. Til he deals with them I don't need him draining me of my energy... energy that's needed for my family... my family meaning my children and Tom. Maybe...Maybe you, Molly are the last bit of dust from WV that I need to shake from my feet.

One day you'll see all I ever wanted from you is a sisterly/cousin relationship... because you are my family... because I love you. But you evidently don't want that.

    PETA KIlls Animals

    Friday, February 2, 2007, 12:46 AM [General]

From July 1998 through December 2005, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed over 14,400 dogs, cats, and other "companion animals." That's more than five defenseless creatures every day. PETA has a walk-in freezer to store the dead bodies, and contracts with a Virginia Beach company to cremate them.

Not counting the pets PETA spayed and neutered, the group put to death over 90 percent of the animals it took in during 2005. And its angel-of-death pattern shows no sign of changing.

Police in Ahoskie, North Carolina arrested Andrew Cook and Adria Hinkle, who are PETA employees, on June 15, 2005 near a shopping-center dumpster, from which they recovered 18 dead pets in trash bags. Thirteen additional dead animals were recovered from the PETA-owned van in which they were traveling. Witnesses from the Bertie County (NC) Animal Shelter and the Ahoskie Animal Hospital later confirmed that the two PETA employees had collected animals earlier that day -- including puppies and kittens -- on the promise that PETA would find them adoptive homes.

On January 22, 2007 trials finally began for Cook and Hinkle. Keep up to date on the trial at

    Veteran Pentacle Quest Update

    Tuesday, January 30, 2007, 09:55 PM [General]

The following is an update about litigation surrounding the Veteran's Affairs not allowing the Pentacle/Pentagram as a religious symbol on memorial markers, headstones, and plaques of fallen soldiers. The story that has been in the news the most is about Sgt. Patrick Stewart's widow fighting the Veteran's Affairs for a very long time to get a Pentagram on her husband's headstone as a symbol of his faith in life. Their story is not the only one, though. Many, many families of fallen soldiers who are Wiccan have been refused by the Veteran's affairs to have the Pentagram engraved on the tombstones. Which is insane in my humble opinion seeing as many religions and nonreligions, from Christianity to Athieism is recognized by the Veteran's Affairs and have their own symbol of faith, or lack thereof in the case of Atheists, to be placed on tombstones. The following is an update on all the litigationon the matter.

    SUPPORT

    * Please remember the Veteran Pentacle Quest at your individual and group Imbolc and Full Moon rituals and gatherings this week.

    * Please pass this email on to others, to lists, websites, and blogs.

    * Please focus on the Pentacle being added soon to the emblems of belief list of the VA (US Department of Veterans Affairs) so that it can be included on memorial markers, headstones, and plaques the VA issues to honor deceased veterans.

    * Please also send support to those of us on the frontlines of the Quest.

    NEWS: Litigation Moves Forward

The litigation process on this issue has begun moving forward in our case before the Federal District Court of Western Wisconsin.

Circle Sanctuary is being represented in litigation by Americans United for Separation of Church and State (AU). Also being represented are two of our members, Roberta Stewart and Karen DePolito, both widows of deceased Wiccan veterans -- and one of our long-time networking partners, Isis Invicta Military Mission.

We filed our lawsuit against the VA in the Federal District Court of Western Wisconsin on November 13, 2006 (more info: http://www.au. org). The VA had to file its response by January 22, 2007.

Just before the VA's response was due, the VA released it latest version of its proposed regulations for emblems of belief addition to its list. These regulations were published on January 19, 2007 in the Federal Register and the public has sixty days to give comment before these regulations go to the next stage in the regulations review and adoption process.

In its response filed on January 22, 2007 to our lawsuit, the VA made a motion asking the judge to stay -- that is, delay hearing -- our case until after its latest rule revision process was complete.

On Wednesday, January 24, our attorneys filed a response that asked the judge to deny the VA's motion. Shortly thereafter the VA responded to this with additional argument for the stay, and in so doing, indicated that its rule revision and adoption process might take another year.

The judge denied the VA's motion to stay the case.

On Friday, January 26, the judge met with our attorneys and the attorneys representing the VA and issued a projected timetable for the case. Our case is presently scheduled to be heard this June.

Selena Fox, high priestess and senior minister of Circle Sanctuary, commented on these developments with our lawsuit:

"This is great news -- I am relieved that the judge decided to let our litigation proceed! The VA's decade-long pattern of delay, disregard, and discrimination against the Wiccan religion must stop! The thought of possibly having to wait more than a year to have our case heard was terrible and I am glad that the judge denied the VA's motion to delay the hearing of our case."

"It is a disgrace that Wiccan veteran gravesites continue to go unmarked in our church cemetery, at Arlington National Cemetery, and elsewhere because the VA has failed to add our emblem to its list. Furthermore, the VA's failure has caused unnecessary suffering and stress for families and others in their grieving processes."

"The VA's discrimination also has caused undue stress for troops, some of whom are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and who are now being deployed to Iraq as part of the surge. Wiccan and other Pagan veterans and those on active duty have and are defending American freedoms as part of their military service, but have been denied their first amendment rights by the VA. I hope that through this litigation there will, at last, be Liberty and Justice for them ... and for all ... on this matter."

    OTHER UPDATES:

The other two lawsuits against the VA are not yet proceeding.

In the lawsuit filed on September 29, 2006 by the ACLU on behalf of the Aquarian Tabernacle Church and others in the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the VA argued for the judge to dismiss the case on jurisdictional grounds, the ACLU has countered, the VA has continued to argue for dismissal, but the judge has not yet issued a decision.

On January 5, 2007, the VA responded to our other lawsuit, which AU filed on our behalf in the Federal Circuit Court on November 13, 2006. The VA has asked for this suit to be dismissed. Our attorneys filed for and received an extension.

    PROPOSED VA "RULES"

The text of the emblems of belief rules were published in the Federal
Register (72 Fed. Reg. 2480) on January 19, 2007. There is a sixty day public comment period, with final comments due on March 20, 2007. If you wish to comment, please keep your remarks polite and professional. We would appreciate a copy of any feedback you send about these proposed rules.

Send us copies of your comments by email: liberty@circlesanct uary.org; and/or by fax: (608) 924-5961; or send by postal mail: LLL Veteran Pentacle Quest, Circle Sanctuary, PO Box 9, Barneveld, WI 53507 USA.

    FUTURE UPDATES:

We will share updates as we are able. Due to being in litigation, updates may be infrequent. Thank you for your understanding and for your support.

    Tyra Banks & Witches?! LMAO!!!

    Tuesday, January 30, 2007, 12:21 AM [General]

Now I am not a fan of Miss Tyra Banks or her TV show. However, in light of the following I will be watching. Afterall as a Christopagan Witch, I want to know what type of people Miss Banks will have on her show representing Witchcraft, Paganism, Wicca, and/or Satanism. Personally I can already see that I am going to be disagreeing with some of the show's ideals. There is no such thing, in my opinion as "white" (good) or "black" (evil) witches or witchcraft. I firmly believe that Magick is neither "white" (good) or "black" (evil). I firmly believe that it is the intentions of the practioner that is "good" or "evil" not the Magick itself. In all of Nature you will find that there is beauty and cruelty, yet it is balanced. Nature is balanced. Human nature itself is both good and evil... beautiful and cuel... and there needs to be a healthy balance between the two polar opposites. Lean too far either way and the human heart and soul suffers. So it is within Magick and the practice of Witchcraft at least in my opinion.

See you local listings for time.....

    "Mysterious Lives of Witches"
    Monday, January 29th

Do you believe in magic? Tyra meets some of the 400,000 people in the United States who call themselves witches and explores their mysterious world of spells and rituals. Three women claim they are "white witches" or "good witches," but have been tormented due to their beliefs. Then the "good witches" agree to pull back the curtain for a first-hand look at a witches' induction ceremony, and Tyra speaks with the woman who was welcomed into their coven. Tyra reveals the other side of witchcraft when she's joined by three people who consider themselves "dark witches," and take you inside a ceremony where a blood-letting ritual is performed. Tyra also speaks with two members of one of the most controversial and feared groups in history, Satanists, including a man who claims he is the first child born in the "Church of Satan." Plus, a former witch who now believes witchcraft is evil.

    http://tyrashow.warnerbros.com/thisweek/index.html

I must say Tyra, seems awful sure of who exactly is watching her show and awfully sure of her audience's personal religious and spiritual beliefs when she told that ex-witch turn christian that the majority of the people watching the show believed her "truth" (Christianity as being the absolute truth). I am saddened at how Witches were portrayed here on the show. Tyra appeared to already have her mind made up about Witches. She is obviously a Christian and was extremely uncomfortable around those witches. The only time she looked comfortable was when she was talking to the ex-witch turned Christian woman. I was saddened that Tyra pitted "white" witches against "dark" witches as though they were mortal enemies. I have to say I agreed with everything that the two Satanists and the "dark" witches said about their particular beliefs. I especially agree with the "Dark" witche that stated that "white" witches live in a fantasy land. It's true in my opinion. I suggest Tyra do some research on Miss Fiona Horne when she was on the Sci-Fi channel's Mad, Mad House. She invoked the "Dark" Goddess, Lilith, several times and did some not so nice things with the energies that she was empowered with. Miss Fiona Horne is not a "White" witch as she claims to be. When anyone pisses of Fiona, she will invoke dark energies and lash out at those who offend her all in the name of her dark goddess. It was seen by millions on TV on the Sci-Fi channel. Because Miss Fiona Horne is so "wishy washy" in her beliefs she is considered amongst most of the Pagan community as a "fluff bunny."

So did anyone watch the show besides me?
